This week has been a hectic week with little rest. I can’t even tell that we had two days off from school for President’s Day and Mardi Gras. In actuality, I only did 2 regular week activities out of my bajillion that I typically do because the family received some news that put everything else on hold.
One of the 2 regular week activities that I did get done was a cake for Friday. I had to work fast on this one because we had to be on the road to join the rest of our family in a matter of hours. Thankfully everything worked out great, and look how cute it turned out! This was a great idea that my client had for a baby shower cake – a onesie! And not just any onesie, this baby is going to be stylish wearing zebra print.
After baking this cake, I had a little batter left over for a few cupcakes. (No need to let that batter go to waste!) My sweet darling peamites begged me for “big marshmallows” when we made a quick trip to the store for cake supplies. Apparently the pretty pink ones were calling their name because they insisted on the strawberry flavored ones. Right on the bag it says, “Great for Snacking,” so I thought, why not? and threw them in the buggy. After all, they looove marshmallows!
Since I now had cupcakes, I had the thought of melting a marshmallow on top like I did for these melting snowmen cookies.
I thought the strawberry flavored ones would be bonus! The cupcakes had a few more minutes left to bake…about 5 I would say, so I put a marshmallow on top, and it got really big and puffed up, and then once it came out of the oven, it deflated and settled on top of the cupcake.
Or how about in the microwave? Just as I did for the melting snowmen cookies, put marshmallows on top of the cupcake and nuke for about 20 seconds until puffed, then let it cool so you don’t burn yourself on the melty goodness.
